Guidelines for sending a research paper

1.The paper must be sent through the Open Journal Systems OJS here . If you do not have a username and password, you must register and create a new account.

2.The author must upload the following documents to the OJS with their respective specifications  (a. Research paper; b. Acceptance of the editorial policy and c. Authors profile):

a. Research paper:

Cover page of the document: The first page of the paper must present the following information:

• Title of the work (maximum length of 55 characters),
• Abstract in Spanish, English and the original language (when required) it is recommended that the abstract contain a maximum of 150 words
• Keywords in Spanish, English and in the original language (when required)
• Please do not include information on the authors (this information must be sent in a separate document as indicated below)

 

length of the text: The papers should have between 6.000 to 10.000 words, written in Word, Arial 12, top and bottom margins of 2.5 cm., left and right 3.0 cm, including bibliography, notes, photos or graphics, if the document requires them. The journal can also publish graduate thesis with a maximum of 10.000 words and they must have the proper authorization from the corresponding faculty.

 

Language: The paper must be unpublished and will be published in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese or Italian. The abstract and keywords in addition to presenting in the respective language must be in Spanish and English.

 

Statistical information: The statistical information must be contained in tables and graphs, those must have the references at the bottom of it. The organization of tables and figures must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi or pixels per inch. These must be provided in separate files in the program or format in which it has been created and will be print black and white.

 

Bibliography: The bibliography should appear at the end of the paper and should contain a minimum of 17 references, and will be presented according to the publications of the last Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA: http://apastyle.org/).

 

Notes: The footnotes must be at the bottom of the page.

 

b. Acceptance of editorial policy:

The author must state in a document the following information:

• Agree with the Editorial Policy of the journal Turismo y Sociedad from the Universidad Externado de Colombia
• the paper is unpublished
• that the paper is not in the selection process of another academic journal or publication.

c. Authors profile:

• Name and academic affiliation of each author
• Email of each author
• Current address of each autor
• ORCID number. If you do not have it, you must go to: https://orcid.org/ and create your profile.
• Telephone contacts
• Date of the review
• Brief curriculum vitae of each author (no more than 80 words)
